Hold Me Closer Tony Danza
I bet you've noticed something different about this little blog. Yes, I have been playing around with my template. Does that sound naughty? I can pretty much make anything sound naughty but it works better in person. Um, this could be a tangentially-terrific post: warning.
I have this need- no, hunger- to rearrange things. I do it all the time at home. After a month or two of having my bedroom furniture a certain way, I have to switch it all around. I get this from my Mom. When I was a kid, my Dad would take me and Dokey to his office on a Saturday afternoon. We'd play at being "secretaries" and he'd do some work. We'd rifle through desk drawers and pretend to answer the phone that wasn't ringing and type things on typewriters. (Typewriters are so cool.) Then my Dad would shuffle us off to the cafeteria where we could select one candy bar each from the vending machine. Score! Hey, was that a type of candy bar?
When we would arrive home hours later, my Mom, in her "free time" would have completely rearranged all the furniture in the house. Usually the stereo was blaring Neil Diamond or Barry Manilow. So, nowadays it is me rearranging everything and instead of Barry or Neil you would probably hear the sounds of Otis Redding or Me First & The Gimme Gimme's pumping out of my stereo while I conduct a house make over. This blog is sort of like my home away from home. My resting place. My therapist's couch, if you will. I spend a good deal of time here so it would follow that the "hunger" to rearrange would strike Ms. Sizzle Says.
But seriously, isn't this new "look & feel" kinda Miami Vice? I don't want to be all Crockett & Tubbs. Aren't they making that show into a movie? What is with this trend of reguritation film? I mean, there have GOT to be better stories to tell. Why aren't those movies being made? Like Chachi & Mikey's film, The Second Shine. It won Best Short Film at the Oakland International Film Festival. (Woo!) Enough with the 80's TV shows being made into mediocre films. Enough with the mediocrity!
In other unrelated news, I am now convinced that Dottie is not only suffering from OCD but she is The Blair Witch kitty. She likes to sit in the corner and stare at the wall. It totally creeps me out! Next she will be making small piles of rocks and twigs and leaving them at the foot of my bed. Seriously, just typing this is making me get goosebumps. Hillz loves scary movies and we have watched this one a few times together. I don't know why I agree because EVERY time I get so flippin' freaked out I can't sleep. One time I made her spend the night. I close my eyes and I am that girl with the flashlight on her face, breathing heavily, scared out of my mind, while the voices in the woods call out. Aaaacccckkk! Hold me.
Goosebumps are not a good way to start the day. Especially since I am supposed to watch Dark Water tonight with Dumpling.

I always get freaked out by scary movies. But, what do I do? Watch another one, by myself. Then I get freaked out again.
After watching the mothman prophesies by myself I couldn't deal with mirrors for like a month because of the one scene where R.Gere closes the bathroom door and the mothman is reflected in the mirror. CREEPY!
Also, I cannot watch the Shining at all. I don't sleep for weeks after that movie.
My favorite cartoon I ever saw was of a cat sitting in the corner. He had a thought balloon over his head. "OH!" you think, "I'm finally going to find out what cats think about when they're staring at the wall." But no, because in his thought bubble was a picture of the corner of the wall. Yes. Their brain is apparently entranced by walls.
It was way funnier when I saw it...laughed for like 10 minutes straight. Crying and everything.
So don't be freaked, just remind yourself again how dumb your wonderful kitty is. :)
your blog is so bright (!)
i like rearranging as well, but i often get frustrated by the amount of work involved. when i redid my blog a few weeks back, it stressed me out (but in a good way).
my mom always used to clean the house while listening to Earth, Wind, & Fire's greatest hits.
Skor - is indeed a candy bar, but I don't think I've ever tried one. The name just sounds weird.
To me the look of a blog is very important. I have read blogs where I was distracted by the colors. Or the smallness of the print. Or not breaking a post into paragraphs, because huge, paragraphless posts are hard to read. But as long as a blogger doesn't make a blog hard to read, I think that playing around with colors and having fun with templates is great. I've seen some very creative layouts and enjoyed that creativity.
BTW,I like you're new look.
Your cool factor went up exponentially for knowing Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies.
i have a sweater with these colors in it. it is faaaabuuuloussss!
change is always good and if you want to rearrange and organize please show up at my house this evening, pronto! i'm in need of some help!
"I have this need- no, hunger- to rearrange things."
It is ok just to use the word "masturbate." I can see it now: Little Siz gets caught as a young girl, and her mother says "Honey, don't 'rearrange your things' in public." Although I have to give her credit for coming up with such a descriptive term.
you got that title from Dooce.
dooce? nope. that's a long running joke isn't it? one of those misunderstood song lyrics?
i will have to go check dooce.
I can't stop messing with things either...Might be why I have a tattoo that says "Change". I changed my blog again...Let me know whatch think...
I like things rearranged too. I just wish I was fabulously wealthy so I could point and say, "Could you rearrange that? Thanks," or, "Gee, I'm not sure I like that colour. Could you try another? That'd be great."
I'm kinda lazy that way.
Although I am not a rearranger… but as you can tell, I too get into this very occasionally.
I. Can. Not. Watch. Scary. Movies… Ever. I hate them, and I have the worst nightmares! But the kitty in the corner… “do-do do-do, do-do do-do”
Sounds like my mom, right down to the Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond.
I think the question should be "when has film not been about regurgitation." It's been the order of the day since the beginning of celluloid history. Everything is inspired by something whether they admit it or not. The real question is whether or not they can do it well. And I just don't see that happening with Miami Vice.
