Supple Turns Thirty

My very good friend, Supple, turns the big 3-0 today. For those of us who have hit this milestone, let us share some wisdom from our advanced years to enlighten her on her journey into her 30's. Leave a comment about turning 30 or what being in your 30's is like. She can take the truth so don't pretty it up for the sake of being nice.

Supple and I have known one another since our UC Santa Cruz days. We met as housemates and a friendship grew that is now seeing its eighth year. (Is it 8 Supple?) We have had our adventures, our nights of youthful debauchery, our disagreements, our long walks, our cryfests and too many moments to count of just being there. Supple is an incredibly supportive friend. I have lost count of the times she has raced over to be by my side. And she is fiesty to boot. Don't you go messing with Supple because you will damn well regret it. She's definitely one you want on your side when the shit hits the fan. She was nicknamed Sarcastro for good reason. She reigns supreme in sarcasm. Her heart is bigger than she will ever let on and her smile makes dimples appear in her cheeks. She's beautiful and she doesn't know it. She's super smart but is the first to say how little she knows. She is always up for an adventure and makes a great traveling companion- as long as her plane seat is divisible by/a multiple of 3. Oh yeah, she's quirky too.

So, sweet Supple, my dear friend. . .Happy Birthday! Here is to one more year of the journey. May it be your best yet. I love you!

P.S. She throws a wicked wine tasting party too. Last night was evidence of that. Today, my slight hangover and memories of being felt up and then solicited for a threesome shall haunt me all day long. Pictures forthcoming. . .

Don't...want...to turn...thirty!!! ACK! Not that your post scared me about 30, I'm just a crybaby. A crybaby who wants to stay 28 FOREVER.

People do not turn 30 anymore. I have an aunt that celebrated the 36th anniversary of her 29th birthday last March.

Cheers, Supple, hope it's a lovely one.

Dear Ms. Supple,

30 isn't so bad...

They say 30 is the new 20...

"They" would be those who are 30 and older of course... and refuse to grow up... such as myself... and now, you I suspect... =)

Happy Birthday, Ms. Supple!

Happy Birthday Supple!!!

All I have to say about 30 is that everything before it paled in its shadow. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me it was in my thirties that I realized I didn't give a flying fuck what ANYONE thought anymore and began living the way I wanted to - screw everyone else. Mind you, since this has happened I've been described as ... uh, "odd?"

No matter. Thirty kicks ASS!

And since hitting thirty, I make the best cosmopolitan on the planet (they key is the lime).

You couldn't pay me to go back to pre-30.

Turning 30 is just like turning 31, turning 29, turning 28, etc.

I still have to show my ID when I buy alcohol; it's just now I see it as a compliment instead of being annoyed.

Thanks for all the comments, I am taking notes...
Cosmos...note the lime!
check
Get drunk..did last night perhaps I will take in a beer
check
Become even less serious
(can that BE done?)
Celebrate my 2nd year of 29!!
alrighty then

It is nice to not be lumped in with the "twenties" crew...they are crazy crack-monkeys that have no sense of repsonibility, morals, or maturity.
(see how I can say that now, as with yesterday I would not have)
!!yo' props to the twenty-sumthin's out there still!!
tee hee
Now when people find me to be 30, it is even more of a surprise to them that I can be soooooo immature, look so young, while I should have already pumped out 4 beasts of burdens. Well, you know at least when I do they will be "supple"
hehehehehehe

There are few things I love more than a birthday...happy birthday, Supple! May the self-promotion begin.

Happy Birthday Supple!

30 was definitely an improvement for me. My 30s were much better than my 20s. 20s (for me) were more of a struggle, trying to answer to what other people wanted, not finding my own way. 30s was more about taking my own direction and doing things for me. Much better!

being in my 30's is way more fun than the 20's. you tend to know more of what you want in life and say fuck em' if other's can't figure it out.
