. . . So Comes Love

I woke up with the lines of one of my favorite e.e. cummings poems running around in my head. Then my meditation for today talked about how when we hold things close, we can't really see them or feel them. Think of a butterfly cupped in your hands. You cannot see its beauty that way. When you release it, you see it. Love is like that. So it seems the universe is whispering in my ear, sending me a special message. . . "Let Go."

So I release, and trust in my heart that it will return to me, a thousandfold.

let it go--the
smashed word broken
open vow or
the oath cracked length
wise--let it go it
was sworn to
go

let them go--the
truthful liars and
the false fair friends
and the boths and
neithers--you must let them go they
were born
to go

let all go--the
big small middling
tall bigger really
the biggest and all
things--let all go
dear
so comes love

- E.E. Cummings, poem "xxix" from 1x1
