Again With The Snow

For a California girl, this snow business is quite disconcerting. Don't get me wrong- I love the snow. It's just that it keeps snowing just enough to stick on the ground but not enough to keep me from going into work. Like my friend Rachel so astutely said, "Snow is like a penis- if there isn't 6 inches there's no point."

All day yesterday I kept saying, "Where is the snow!?" And then, come 4:15pm- whamo! There were flurries of snow whirling about my office window. Most of us bolted out of the office to try to beat the traffic. I actually smiled my whole way home. Snow has that effect on me.

Unfortunately, my neck of the woods didn't get enough snow to warrant a snow day so I am carpooling in with Rachel. I don't want to drive in it. It's freezing and icy out there! I'll let the seasoned Washingtonian do the dangerous driving. I bet half the office won't be in but I'll be there. Great! Ahem.

So THAT'S where all our snow is!! It snowed once here, the weekend Dave was in town, and never again. For a Midwest girl, that's quite disconcerting! :)
Looks like I'll just have to bring myself to the snow next week. Never thought I'd be looking forward to snow on a vacation from Chicago!

Your friend Rachel's quote just kills me...ha ha!

Although, living in Denver, where we've gotten slammed with 3 big storms recently (and I think yours is currently on the way towards us..) I think I have to disagree.
We're all kind of tired of it at this point!

I miss snow days... but I will never miss living in it... wait until you get heavy snows... then they freeze over... and you are just stuck with miserable ice for weeks... it SUCKS!

I am more of desert kind of guy. Snow is fine to visit, but I can't see myself living in it.

I agree with diane, being in the Midwest it's been quite weird not having snow! Send some my way!

Honestly the best quote EVER. Oh god, I'm so stealing it!

And speaking of stealing... how come you have all our snow?!?! None, zip, zero, nada here in Wisconsin: instead, it's pretty warm again today, high 40's, with little breeze.

Your snow today is ours tomorrow. And Saturday. Even in Colorado, we are SO OVER the now right now. We need a break.

I have to agree with your friend Rachel. When it comes to snow, it ain't worth it if it's just a few measly inches. Give me FEET! :)

we are bracing for ice storms and power outages. let's pray they are totally wrong. i don't know what would happen if we didn't have power for the t.v.

I'm in the same boat in that it wasn't bad enough for me either. I got "called out" when I tried to it for the first snowstorm, so it has to be pretty bad for me since I live the closest. Some of my co-workers are totally milking it, though.

hi, i'm kinda late with the delurking and all, haven't been surfing the 'net too much and have lots to catch up on!

But looks like Chicagoland is going to get some snow this weekend. Maybe part of the same system that snowed on your side? I'd be happy to try and reverse the earth's spin and all to make the system go back your way :-) "Oh, Claarrrrrrrk, go fly the around the world again, would you please, but this time don't reverse time, just the spin, okay?" heeheheee :-)

Love the quote. Unfortunately too many people don't know how to drive in the stuff. So a little bit comes and people leave their cars in the middle of the road, and that really helps the rest of us get around. It is really pretty though.

I think that my theme for the last couple of weeks would be anything by the Smith's. Perfect for the post holiday blahs.

I promise to de-lurk and be nice!
