I Couldn't Make This Up
4th Grade Boy #1: "Have you been to Ben's house? What did you think of it?"
4th Grade Boy #2: "Ben's house is nice. I liked it."
4th Grade Boy #1: "Did you like it better than Sam's house?"
4th Grade Boy #2: "Yeah. It is taller."
I've got to admit, I think I missed my calling when I didn't get my teaching credential. Kids are awesome. And exhausting. After an hour and a half with them, I was like- don't you guys need to go back to school now? I admire teachers. It takes great stamina to keep up with their active minds. The conversations they have crack me up. As they were gluing the envelopes, I got to overhear some tidbits (like these).
4th Grade Boy #1: "Do you know what cheese is?"
4th Grade Boy #2: "No. What is it?"
4th Grade Boy #1: "It's basically edible mold."

Kids are hilarious. My little cousins, which used to seem more like birth control, continually entertain me.
wouldn't it be great if, when we were in 4th grade, we appreciated being in 4th grade?
I think kids around that age are the best. Just too funny! Sounds like it was a good field trip.
Cheese is yummy mold. I really admire teachers and their patience.
There are days when I look at my now-grown brood (of 4) and say, "what the HELL was I thinking?"... and "How did I ever do this?". Of course, I didn't stay entirely sane the whole time. Maybe that explains it.
I love how simply they put things. It's absolutely perfect.
I think I'd love to be a teacher.
Those were cute. Thanks for sharing.
oh sizz -
kids are cute and amazing. but make sure to re-read my posts on teaching before you make a career switch ;)
But that's some damn fine mold. Unless you're talking gouda.
But they grow up to be such awful teenagers! ;)
