This Post Has No Thesis

I can't quite seem to get myself to work by 8:30. It isn't that I need to be there by then- it's a self-imposed arrival time. Frankly, I could arrive at 10 if I wanted as long as I am working my 40 hours. I like this flexibility and obviously, I NEED it because lordhavemercy I can't get out of my house before 8:30. Like right now? It is close to 8:10 in the morning and I am still in my pjs. Uh yeah, Sizzle! Get a move on!

Today I get to wear casual clothes. Usually that is the norm around my office but this week I've had three presentations at corporations so it's been heels and dress up clothes. By 5 pm I am like "Please let me take these shoes off and put on some jeans!" Sure, I can clean up good but it has an 8 hour shelf life. Actually, it'd be way better if we just kept the dress up time down to 4 hours because there would be a strong likelihood that I would still be smiling and fresh faced and not wanting to take my bra off. (Ahem.)

Driving around downtown trying to find the buildings in which I am supposed to do my presentations, I noticed so many women walking effortlessly in high heels. I envy them. I do not possess such grace. I'm a kitten heel kind of girl. A short-hair-loving-kitten-heel-wearing kind of girl. That's me. Sigh. So be it. And can I just say? Downtown is confusing. All those one way streets and pedestrians who walk sooooooo slow. Did you know that in Seattle pedestrians rule. You have to stop for them even if the light doesn't say walk or if there isn't a cross walk. There is some unspoken rule about it. I wonder if I rebel and "accidentally" plow someone over will I earn 200 points or go to jail? Mmm, not worth risking I don't think. But seriously Seattle people, move along now. Slow pokes!

My office is wearing jeans today for Lee National Denim Day :) We normally don't get to be so casual, so I'm kind of loving it.

The campus near here is like that with the pedestrians too, but they get hit all the time. Well, really the people on bikes get hit the most, but they act like the biggest assholes, so I guess they deserve it the most.

Look how lovely you are! It's casual around here all the time. Every now and then I have to dress up to remind myself I'm a girl.

And those kitten heels? Fabulous! I've got a closet full of high dollar high heels and I can't walk in the fuckers.

I so wish I could walk in a heel over 2" as well. But I cannot, not even boots. I'd surely get hit by a car in my downtown if I tried to cross the street in 4" heels. Sure, the car might be parked and it might actually be me that hits it but still. :-)

I would love to be able to wear jeans to work! I know we'd be more productive. lol

That scene in Moonstruck where Cher runs in high heels over cobblestones? Yeah, always been in awe of that.

I haven't worn heels in umpteen years. So, help me out here (I have no fashion sense either), what is a "kitten heel?"

SF is the same way with the pedestrians! And none of them are in a hurry!

I can't wear heels, either. There's a girl at work that wears the 3 - 4" ones everyday...even if she's not meeting with a client. I have to wear the 1 - 2" really chunky loafer types.

I'm so with you on the pedestrian maneuvering in downtown -- they dont' respect the lights!

I can't seem to get to work when I want to, either. Fortunately, my time is somewhat flexible, too.
