You Got That Right

It was Hillz birthday yesterday. Her other best friend and I took her out to (what else?) sushi. It was a feast and I was in heaven. Then we took the pups to the dog park where I managed to almost lose her dog Jack (again) but this time Big D was with me so I could totally blame him. I should hang out with him more often. He's a great scapegoat and I get to tease him about his vocabulary. Like when we were walking along and he slapped my ass with the leather leash and I countered (falsely) "Hey! I am a demure lady." And he retorts, "Don't use big words with me woman!" Apparently "demure" qualifies as big in this situation. And a few minutes later when he was attempting to say tell me a story but couldn't come up with a word (he's kind of like Mikey in Goonies) and I said, "Do you mean pretense?" "Yeah, that's it. Pretense." Then he recounts the story to a fellow dog parker and instead of saying "pretense" he says "precendence." Oh Big D. Hee hee.

My nephew gets cuter every day and I am not saying that because it is required of me in the Idiot's Guide to Auntiehood. He's got incredible neck strength and when his eyes aren't gooby he opens them and looks at you. And, he even already rolled over. At 10 days old! I don't know a lot about babies but I KNOW that is advanced. He's such a Leo. Arriving two weeks early to a big show and now with the rolling over. We might have a showman on our hands which is alright by me because, hello, have you met me?

I am so glad I decided to work part time this week (and I found out I am getting paid for full time days- bonus!) because I am seriously fatigued. It isn't gruelling work but getting out the door and somewhere by 9am is hard! I'm out of practice. Plus, I've been out every night until after 10. Oh listen to me, Gramma Sizzle. I am looking forward to tomorrow when I have no plans and can lay around in my slip again doing a whole lot of nothing. Plus, I will have a cute new hair do (thank god because these grays are aging me, sincerely) after 3:00pm today. Isn't it marvelous how a haircut can totally change your outlook on life? Oh. That's just me? My bad.

Fin is definitely a little genius. I can't wait until he's old enough to befriend my little genius of a nephew!

Happy Birthday Hillz and yay for new hair!

Most babies don't have a defined nose. His nose looks like he had it perfectly sculpted.

Rolling over at 10 days! WOW!

He's beautiful.

Am glad you finally seem happy there. Well, maybe not totally happy, but happier, yes?

Love your blog. Who doesn't?

You are not the only one, new hair for me is in the top five Most Exciting Things That Could Possibly Happen.

Your nephew is so very cute. Wouldn't be surprising if you were teaching him things already. :)

Happy bday, Hillz. Great photo of the two of you.

No offense, but you're not allowed to walk my dog. That's twice you've nearly lost the poor thing. Course, I'll have to GET a dog before I don't let you walk it. :)

And woo hoo for full-time pay with part-time hours!

btw ... Congrats on the job. I've been reading the posts but not commenting because I, too, start working again this week. Except mine was after a vacation. I couldn't think of anything interesting to say in a comment ... kinda like this one. Anyway ... good to know we got another deadbeat off the street and into the workforce. :-)

Clearly, brilliance runs in the family! New haircuts, just like new shoes and purses, can change the way you face your day! :)
