A Woman With A Mission

The bags are packed and Dumpling is seconds away from arriving at my front door to whisk me away to breakfast and then the airport. Destination: Seattle. Mission: Find the perfect house.

Can she do it?

With fingers and toes crossed, lists upon lists made, appointments set and paperwork in order, I've got enough energy and hopefulness to fuel the plane, let alone land a great apartment. In the last few days I have become a manic over-organized powerhouse of productivity. A frantic look in my tired eyes has replaced my usual come hither one. I've lost my thought mid-sentence and given up entirely on delivering it with a shrug of my shoulders. I've got THINGS to do people. I can't be bothered to complete sentences! This feels a lot like how I get when I am days away from a big event I've planned. Details overlap in my mental to do lists while I rapidly transform into an efficiency machine. It's like mind Tetris- the pieces falling faster and faster the closer I get. Got. To. Make. The. Pieces. Fit.

At the epicenter of all this crazy energy is a calm. A deep faith that it will all come out better than I expect. Because this is the biggest event I've ever planned in my life and all signs point to YES.

Now please, God of Air Travel, shine your benevolence on me and make my three plane wishes come true:

1) Please don't make me sit in a middle seat squished between two people. Even if they are both thin and don't hog the armrest, please, pretty please, let me have a window or aisle seat. My ample bosom needs space!

2) Please do not let my luggage get lost or damaged or delayed. I have interview outfits in there. I need those outfits God of air Travel. My livelihood depends upon it.

3) Please, lovely, beautiful, and kind God of Air Travel, please don't subject me to a search where I have to take my shoes off. I hate when that happens because there are never suitable stations to put my shoes back on which makes me feel very, very anxious. I don't like feeling out of place and worse, I hate holding up a line.

Wish me luck!
