Home is Soggy
I made it home.
It wasn't easy or pleasant but I made it back to California. The traveling part of vacation was just plain awful. (I will tell you about it later.) The vacation part of vacation was spectacular. That photo below is pretty much what I lived in the last 8 days. Muy bonita!
Snippets from stories of my travels (the entire stories to come):
- Three years of Spanish, relatively unused for 16 years, won't really help you in Mexico.
- Heat and humidity and I are not bosom buddies- unless you count the rash on my chest from said heat and humidity.
- I kick serious card assssss in Gin...or is it Gin Rummy? Either way, I kicked it.
- Seaweed in Mexico is not nearly as scary as seaweed in California.
- Attempting to barter in English will only jack up the price of your handpainted, authentic Mexican bowl. Muy caro!
- T.V. is unnecessary but reading good books is priceless.
- Continental Airlines is the worst airline I have ever, ever experienced. Bastards! You shall feel my wrath and it shall not be pretty.
- 8 days without a cell phone, computer or television have restored my faith in my imagination and my ability to amuse myself.
- Freckles multiply regardless of SPF 30.
- The sound of waves is the ultimate lullaby.

Merry New Year Sizzy!!
Mmmm ... the sound of waves. Maybe that should be my New Year's resolution - more waves, less traffic.
Hope your year is fabulous!
Welcome home! We missed you! Can't wait to hear the stories about the cabana boy. :)
I totally agree about Continental. After my trip to NOLA in 2004, I swore I would never ever give them a penny of my money again. Bastards.
so, glad you are back! i missed you! hope it was enjoyable just relaxing and hope you have a wonderful 2006!
That's one of the best things about getting away: good books and not relying on modern inconveniences.
Happy New Year!
i LOVE gin rummy.
happy to have you back in cali!
Welcome back! I SOOOO missed you! I'm happy you had a great time and, thanks, I will not be flying Continental Airlines.
Happy New Year! :) *hugs*

Welcome home! Other than the Continental unpleasantness, it sounds like you had a great time.
Viva freckles!
Sizzle! I was just thinking of you... I made cupcakes, but didn't have any crunchy letters to put on top.
Sounds like you had a great time overall. Looking forward to stories once you get settled. Feliz año nuevo, Chiquitita!
Welcome back! I'm so jealous of your trip, can't wait to hear more (and hopefully see some pictures)!
Glad you had a good time! Did you come home with that hand painted bowl? If so, were you ripped?
YES! She's home! Whoot! Welcome back, Siz... you were missed. Hope you got to de-stress a bit and the new year treats you well.
Freckles? My mother always said if all my freckles would just run together I'd have a great tan. LOL!
Looking forward to the in-depth vacation tales.
