Good Medicine

I needed a good laugh last night and found it in an episode of The Office. Someone left a "nasty surprise" on the carpet of Michael's office. The carpet had to be pulled up and replaced- it was that bad. My favorite part of the episode went something like this:

Michael Scott (the boss) says: "I am the victim of a hate crime. Stanley knows what I am talking about."

Stanley (the only black man in the office) says, "No, you weren't."

Michael responds, "I was! I HATED it!"

Is it just me or do you also think that new show, Four Kings, is uber-lame, un-funny drivel? The media keeps reminding us that the writers of Will & Grace are responsible for this stupidity. I don't think they should be taking that as a compliment. Mikey and I suffer through it as they have cleverly sandwiched it between two good shows. Occasionally, we get to give the other a sidelong glance of disdain when one of us accidentally laughs. My favorite part of those 30 minutes is when Mikey catches himself laughing and says, "Dear God. I just laughed at this stupid show." Priceless.

I hope your weekend brings you lots of laughter. It's good medicine.

Ummm…. Sizz?

I feel as though I must admit something to you….

… something that can be horribly awkward…

I am the biggest laugh-track whore there is. The laugh track comes on and like some Pavlovian reflex, I begin to laugh…

It’s embarrassing, but I too, have thought to myself on many occasions, “Dear God. I just laughed at this stupid show.”

Whew… I feel so much better now that is off my chest…

I missed the Office last night, while I was watching CSI. I trade off weeks watching those shows because I love all three (the third is My Name is Earl).

I'm ashamed to admit that I think the stuff between the dumb guy and the guy who works out all the time on 4 Kings is funny. The other two I could do without.

All of the bad buzz has kept me away from Four Kings. However, I did laugh my ass off at the scene from The Office that you mentioned.

My Hollywood crush right now is on John Krasinski. I need to meet him. I need him to kiss me.

And I love that show. My friend is on it and it used to just sit on my Tivo. Then I ran into her at a Christmas party and she made me promise to watch her in the Christmas episode and I have been hooked ever since. I even download them and put them in my ipod. Last week on the way to Sundance, I had the worst church giggles on the plane when they had a party without inviting Steve Carrell.

I love it.

Hold your head high for your guilty pleasure.

office space makes me laugh so hard and there really isn't a lot of tv out there that will do that to me.

I have always liked Will and Grace, but I happen to think the writing is the weakest part of the program. To me, some of the jokes are lame.

I love The Office. I really liked the BBC series a lot, but Steve Carrell is really cool.

I could use a good laugh. For some reason all my must-see tv shows are dramas. Except for Scrubs, which puts me on the floor every time I watch it.

I'm rambling. Must. Have. Coffee.

Found it and, yes, you are right... Four Kings is crap. We stopped watching it after the second show. But, as to whether or not it's sandwiched between two good shows, that's assuming Will & Grace is good as that's the lead-in, isn't it? I don't pay much attention anymore as it's all set on the TiVo box. Translation = I can be lazy and forget about it.
