Keep The Promise

Today is World AIDS Day.

40 million people are infected with HIV/AIDS worldwide. The disease is spreading- 3 million people just this year were newly infected. You can be a part of the solution. Don't just wear the ribbon. Get educated. Share what you learn with other people. Speak up. Speak out. Donate money. Volunteer in your community. Make a difference in people's lives. Believe me, it matters.

I have watched people die from AIDS and seen them suffer with AIDS-related illnesses- the dementia, the cancers, the fatigue and depression. Today we not only remember those who have died but those who live bravely every day with HIV/AIDS. They are our friends, our brothers, our daughters, our teachers.

Keep the Promise. Spread the word.

Thank you Ms. Super Star Sizz... I volunteered in an AIDS hospice home a couple of years ago...

I appreciate what you are doing... so do they.

Thanks for the reminder. Let me throw out my own reminder/heads up ...

Through World Vision you can sponsor a Hope Child. This, I gather, is the usual sponsorship but with additional "... assistance to help save her generation from the HIV/AIDS crisis."

World Vision fis here. Or, if you're in Canada, it's here.

Well, I don't usually plug things but this seemed an appropriate time and place. There are lots of other organizations you can do things with too, if for some reason you're not partial to this one.

I hope everything turned out well Ms. Sizz. If the folks who dumped all this off on you forget to tell you today, thank you. You do beautiful things every day.
