Call Me Prude(nce)

I'm on myspace which is the "new" friendster. It's used for all sorts of things like connecting with friends, old and new, networking and hooking up. I have had some pretty interesting fellas write to me. There is one in particular, a French fella, who, despite me never having written him back, sent me an email inviting me to this. I don't consider myself a prude but this...it's just not my bag baby. And we have never even exchanged emails. How forward! (She says clutching her handkerchief to her bosom.)

I am great at helping other people out with their relationship problems but when it comes to mine, I am a mess. I overthink every little detail. Some might call it obsessing but I call it being thorough. Last night, talking to Hillz, we were lamenting about relationships and how difficult it seems to be to speak about what we truly feel in our hearts. Fear silences me, holds my voice hostage. I think I know what I want to say but then it eeks out and I think: Why did I say that? Why is it that I can articulately speak about everything but what my heart feels? It is so frustrating. My head feels muddled and my spirit a bit deflated. I'm hoping this is just a passing phase...

Oh and I took this quiz and of course, this is what it told me (typical, but at least it is from my favorite movie)...

when harry met sally
Everyone remembers the 'faked-orgasm-in-a-deli'
sequence from your kind of movie When Harry Met
Sally. It seems that you're falling for a buddy
or have already fallen for them. Uh-oh. You're
probably caught between the possibility of
having a great relationship and wrecking the
one you have now. You know what they say, it's
better to regret something you did than
something you didn't do.

hmmm... I am apparently like Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Iguess I'll have to watch it to know what it means.

Your romance is more of a love that needs to bloom within, just like Hedwig of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The film features an East German transsexual who is seeking her "other half" after constant betrayal. You must love yourself before you can need another. You're starting to realize this, along with the fact that you don't need a significant other to be a complete person. Your "other half" has been inside you all along.
