The Right Container

"The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains the same, exactly the same. But the amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container we put the pain in. So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things... Stop being a glass. Become a lake."

Very, very nice. I need to remember that.

Nicely put. I think that we all need that kind of perspective once in a while. My Optometrist died recently, he was in his late 50's early 60's if I had to guess. I know his son peripherally, and he just had another child. I stopped to think that he will never come to know this child. It has given me the "life is too short" outlook, so I will endeavor to be happier, and to be more like a lake.
Thanks Siz.

Wow ... I could live there. So beautiful ... both the pic and the quote.

I suppose that is true. Very nice. And the bigger space we create for pain, the bigger space we create for love, as well.

Such a great idea. I definitely need to become a lake. Thanks for sharing Sizz!

OOOOH so that's your advice, become a lake, bigger than my petty, petty problems. Can't I just get drunk until it all goes away?

Wonderful quote. I need to learn to look at things with that perspective more often.
