You Know Who You Remind Me Of?

I was recently told someone thinks I am the female equivalent to Jack Black. I quipped that I am short & fat but apparently looks had nothing to do with it. I'm going to take it as a compliment and leave it at that.

Ahem.

I do that all the time. I meet someone and I liken then to someone else. Right now, at my office, there is a girl who (in my mind) is Joan Osborne, another who is Julianne Moore and a third who is a Stockard Channing. Oh yeah and the unfortunate one who reminds me of a Simpson's character. But she is not a man. D'oh!

That got me thinking. . . Do I remind you of anyone? If so, spill it. I want to know!

If you're being called the female Jack Black, you must be a blast to hang out with, but alsas, I only know your blog.

I can't think of anyone, but maybe that's just because I don't know you.
However, I do wish anyone thought I looked like Julianne Moore.

Jeannine Garafalo ...

That's what comes to mind when I see your pic. I don't know either of you personally, but I think you both are pretty humorous.

You remind me of me....does that count? And being called Jack Black is a compliment!

People always say I look like Susan Sarandon and I just don't see that!

Grace Adler from Will & Grace. Could you be anymore neurotic? And if you really want to stop dating and start focusing on yourself, you need to stop talking about men. I'm sure you're an intelligent woman, and have plenty of other things to discuss in your blog. I notice you've made no mention of the mid-term elections which is something that effects us all. There's more to discuss in this world then men.

Sheesh, nice comment, "Anonymous."

I can't think of anyone you remind me of. Then again, I've never seen you in person!

Well, just based upon the blog, I might go with Charlotte from Sex and the City because you're always trying to see the positive side of people, relationships and situations.

anonymous- oh boy. i definitely think i've got some grace in me. and i have not denied the fact that i am neurotic. um, hello? it's part of my blog tag line. i probably have already dated you, haven't i? ;)

alison- it is kind of hard to guess because of that...

ok, I'm going to say Monica from Friends, because you're beautiful, a little neurotic and love to make everyone feel loved and at home :)

Anonymous - you suck! Stop the hating!

Oh my god. "I notice you've made no mention of the mid-term elections which is something that effects us all. There's more to discuss in this world then men."

Yick with the hating.

You actually remind me of my friend Holly quite a bit (she's a contact of mine on flickr if you're interested), though she's not quite a celebrity!

it's official, you are popular. you've joined the big leagues of people who receive stupid comments from cowards.

I do the same thing, and I don't know why, because you don't really look that much like her, but I always think of Sookie St. James (played by Melissa McCarthy) from Gilmore Girls when I read this.

I'd say Rosie O'Donnell. You're very opinionated like she is. Needing to be in control like she does. LOUD = around your friends or so I interpret thru your blog and always NEEDY to have friends or someone/nearby or you can't handle things alone/independently speaking. Again don't know you outside of reading you for nearly a year and a half and the few interactions on email and instant messages. I sign this anonymous only because you did ask our opinions but I also didn't write this to hurt your feelings. You did ask remember and this is how I interpret you.

I hope for 2007 you find yourself completey and truly... I hope for you that you won't be so needy or so desperate to find a man to complete your life. I would hope also that just having your health, the love of your friends and family nearby is enough to complete your life.... and like I said, I do hope for you... only the best.

I am often referred to as the gay Jack Black, so that makes us quite the pair! :-)

dear anonymous person:
i'm not sure why you feel the need to keep posting...especially with your negative and demeaning energy.

i think sizz reminds me of mae west...sassy, sexy, funny, determined, smart, sultry, and most of all brazen :)

You know when I first saw you I thought you reminded me of someone, but I couldn't put my finger on it...And to this day I still can't! I'll let you know when it comes to me...and it will come to me around 3am in about 7 months.

I'm the anonymous that made the Grace Adler reference. To the people who have commented that I'm "hating", I beg to differ. I also said I belive your an intelligent woman, I appreciate your writing style find you very witty. About the mid-term elections, that was just an example of the other things to talk about. Sizzle, you make comments about focusing on yourself but continue to write about men. I would really like to see you focus on yourself and find happiness with yourself. I've been reading your blog for some time and this is the first time I have ever commented about it. I understand you have been through a lot this year, believe me I do. But I would love to see you make the connection that we are responsible for making our own happiness, you can not rely on a man for that. The only person we can ever really rely on is ourselves. Once you accept that a whole new journey awaits you. I swear I'm not hating...

i'm kind of done processing this out with you anonymous (and yeah, you aren't all that "anonymous" but i won't out you here). i get what you are saying and well, this IS a blog and it is MY blog so... i will continue to talk about whatever i need to talk about and you can continue to have your judgements and opinions. from one opinionated chick to another, i don't begrudge you that right. let's just say, i don't think you get it or me. and talking about men and relationships IS how i move on, internally.

i don't take any of these comparisons as negative. frankly, i think my neurosis is part of my quirky charm. ;)

now can we just move on? i mean, i need to talk about rumsfield resigning and brit and k-fed breaking up!

Who is Bob Merrik and why does he always comment about himself on someone else's blog?
Are we all supposed to think he's that interesting?

Honestly you remind me of Mia [http://www.giddygirlie.com/], reminded me of her from the moment I met you and continue to do so to this day. It is a great compliment to you both, my charming, witty, well-dressed and uber-hip girlie friends.

Anonymous -- if you're not hating, than why on earth are you hiding behind the "anonymous" cloak? I don't think being "insightful" (aka, critical) while not using your name, or identifying yourself in any way, hurts feelings any less.

Stand behind what you say. Sizzle does; it seems respectful for you to do the same.

As for Bob, I've always seen his self-reflective comments as a way to relate his life to what Sizzle says.
