Putting on the Ritz

Last night I was all dressed up but with somewhere to go. A volunteer cancelled on a fundraising event at the last minute so I got asked to take her place. That meant putting on my black dress and standing in heels for 6 hours. But the sore feet were worth it.

I got to go to the home of one of the richest couples in Seattle. Let's just say, he made his money making coffee. Their home is gorgeous- rustic elements mixed with a modern edge. How often is one in a home that has "grounds"- that's a big house! In the "tent" where dinner was served, wrought iron chandeliers hung lit with candles. Orchid centerpieces that were auctioned off starting at $250 a piece. The most famous Seattle chef prepared the meal. Oh and John Legend performed.

It was awesome.
