I Enjoy Being a Girl

I like being a girl. I like painting my toenails and buying make up and wearing pink. I can't help it. You see, I was born this way.

Last night, I was partaking in a very feminine ritual: the face mask. Not only does it make my skin soft there is an added bonus: It totally and completely creeps my housemate out. A few months back, he had come to my room to talk to me and as he stood there, I began to peel my mask off in an unconscious, distracted kind of way. The utter look of horror that crossed his face was priceless. His mouth went agape. His eyes widened to epic proportions. And then he quickly gasped and averted his eyes while asking, "What in the HELL are you doing?"

The poor boy. For a moment there I do believe he was deathly afraid he had shacked up with an alien.

Hee hee.

So last night, while he was on the phone with his girlfriend, I walked over to him and peeled a big chunk off right in front of him. I couldn't resist. It's almost as good as drinking water after eating ice cream in front of him. It's a long story, but basically, when Mikey was younger, he ate some ice cream then drank some water right after and later threw up- the mere sight of someone doing such a thing creates flashback waves of nausea in his belly. Ice Cream Wussie. And I haven't told you about his spider paranoia.

It is always good times at our house.

i keep trying to talk my husband into a nice Mint Julep mask, but he says that if it's not one of the peel-off kind, he doesn't see much use in it.

I like putting on various masks and scaring the hell out of Hubby. At least it makes me feel as though he's paying attention...! ;)

I remember doing that in front of my little brother when he was about 3 years old, and he burst into tears and was sobbing from deep in his gut. After calming him down, he said that he thought I was an alien - and now here I was peeling off my face, so nonchalantly.
