Return to Sender

Sometimes opening mail isn't the joy I long for it to be. Most days I am anxious to open my mailbox, hopeful that someone who has affection for me has sent some sort of love note or trinket or card that simply states "You are my everything." Is that too much to ask? Heh. Yesterday, my box was stuffed to the gills with envelopes- all of which disappointed me. Belated Christmas card. Life insurance offer. Columbia House threatening to send me to collections because I didn't order enough over-priced dvds to suit them. My Comcast bill. . .let's stop there because it's Comcast that deserves my wrath.

How is that Comcast can so consistently piss me off yet so inconsistently provide me service? Oh right. I get it. I swear they are vying for a tie with Bank of America on my most hated list. My recent bill shows a jump in price for internet and cable- it's now double what I have paid monthly for 5 months. Double! With no warning, I might add. I hate you Comcast. Hate. You vile monsters. I might as well get a land line at the rate they are charging. It would actually be cheaper if I had all three services instead of just the two. That's how they operate.

Why can't they just give me one price and be done with it? I don't want to remember when my "special deal" is going to expire. I don't want to have to call asinine customer service and inquire into new deals and switch everything. It was fine the way it was! Hmphf!

This news sent me into such despair that, unbeknownst to me, I ate half a bag of reduced fat cheese crunchies from Trader Joe's while reading over the fine print of the bill. I think they might have been stale too. Awesome.

You and Sandra need to get together, I believe she is hating Bank of America right now - oh, and she's great at writing complaint letters :)

That was a real, slightly melancholy slice of life.

Love your new profile pic.

Ohhhhh Sizzle. I am so with you on this one.
Tuesday my cable went out, AGAIN, so I called. All they ever know to do is "Send the signal remotely" which does NOTHING. They offered to send a tech, and I said, no, I have had 3 techs come to my house, give me a manager.
While on hold for a manager, I unplugged the back, put it back in, and voila! Perfect cable ever since!
BUT IT GETS BETTER!! Yesterday I got two angry calls from Comcast because I didn't answer when the technician came by. DUH, that would be because I said I didn't want one!! God, this is what it must be like to be a junkie. I hate myself so much for being a Comcast customer, but it's either this or DirectTv. I love my cable too much now to go cold turkey. *sigh*

We have fortunately and unfortunately severed all ties with the evil empire comcast in favor of the new evil empire Verizon. (with a little help from Direct TV). We are in a two year agreement with DTV otherwise we would have the verizon FIOS TV to go with out fiber optic internet. Stale puffs suck!

Your letter is already written, you just need to find the sender and encourage him to send it. (read it on a fortune cookie or something;)

I would definately change to a land line service. If it's available, bellsouth is good... but i don't know if they have bellsouth out there.. Doubling the bill is extreme with no notice. CHANGE! :)

Cable is evil. I love satellite. It's the way to go. Matched with Tivo it's like TV heaven.

BTW, you are my everything.

A couple of my friends said that they just call Comcast every few months and threaten to go to another provider and their bill is discounted again. I need to try it myself.

Add Washington Mutual, Cingular and Wal Mart to this list. Down with these big businesses!

At least with banks and cell phones we have a choice. We have not choice with Comcast! It's a Microsoft monopoly all over again! We should file a lawsuit....
