Aunt Sizzle

I am so in love with my nephew, I can barely stand it. I mean, have you seen how cute he is? He's such a good baby. And yeah, I am biased. What of it? That's what aunts are supposed to be.

I'm an aunt. How much do I love saying that?!

Finn is my good luck charm. He came into the world and everything made sense. I don't feel stressed out like I was before he came. So what if I don't have a job? The right one is on its way. So what if my bank account is dwindling? I am awaiting financial abundance. Any day now. Any day now.

It just seems that after watching my nephew come into this world- holding my sister's hand as she beared down, hearing Double B cry out "Oh my God! Hi Finn." when he looked at his son for the first time, seeing the look on my mom's face as she watched her youngest daughter give birth- anything is possible.

I had a second interview with the foster care place and have two more lined up- one for a temp job and a second/third interview with the at risk youth organization. It's a third interview with the agency but a second for an events coordinator position specifically. I even have another with an opera on Wednesday. Every week we think, this is THE week. I have to stop thinking that because so far, that isn't working for me. For now, I will keep applying, keep my spending low and just spend all my free time helping my family and holding my nephew.

I should be so lucky. Look at that beautiful face.

Today is my mom's birthday. I think she got one hell of a birthday present, don't you? Happy Birthday Grandma!

He is totally adorable. I think it's serendipitous that you don't have a job yet so you can help your sister through these first few days and get bonding time in with Finn. Good luck with the interviews though - I'm sure you'll do great.

He is absolutely beautiful Sizz, it's surreal no? Anytime I am sad, or stressed out with life, I just want to be with my nephew. You're right, everything just makes sense when you're near them. You're going to be a kick ass auntie! Good luck on your interviews!

He is GORGEOUS!! And isn't it amazing how much you can love someone you just met? I was never a "kid person" until I met my niece, and fell in insta-love.

Nephews are so wonderful!!! I am amazed everytime I get to see them how they evolve into their own little people and how funny they really are!

new life puts a lot of things into perspective.

he is truly beautiful! and yes, it is so nice to have this special time with your sister and nephew for bonding and helping out. this is such an important time with your family.

it was meant to be that you don't have a job right now. you were meant to be around for the first few weeks of your handsome little nephews life!

I love the name Griffin, but he's called Finn? Why not just name him Finn? At least they aren't going to call him initials.

So.

Beautiful.

Congrats to the new Auntie and the rest of your family. Babies are truly a blessing. I actually teared up reading your recount of holding your sisters hand as she bore down, daddy's first words to his son & your description of the look on her mom's face as she entered the world of "Grandma".

It made me drag out the early pictures of my beautiful girl Grace & remember that intense feeling of absolute love the first time I saw that sweet face enter my life. Thank you for being the catalyst for remembering that feeling again...now that she's 7 & a proud 2nd grader-to-be and my life is peppered with "mom, you are crazy" and I hold my head in my hands & wonder how my own mother ever made that "I hope you have kids that act the way you do" curse really happen..I am reminded once again that she is the best thing that ever happened to me.

That is going to be one spoiled little boy - and may you love every second of it. They get big soooooo fast. Enjoy it. Enjoy it all!

As a two-time uncle, I understand the feeling. Enjoy it! By the way, just a warning - they grow up REAL fast. So pay attention!

(Sorry ... had problems posting this.)
