Bunny Boquets

Sometimes Easter would usurp the hoopla of my birthday growing up as a kid. Not that getting gobs of candy, coloring hard boiled eggs and hunting for plastic Easter eggs isn't a whole lot of fun- it is, but when you are trying to celebrate your birthday you want it to be about y-o-u, not some holiday. I feel for those folks who have their birthday right around Christmas. You guys must get jacked on the celebrations and the gifts. Today I will count my bunny blessings and say thanks Easter Bunny (bock bock!). It's ok to share my birthday week with you.

I was lunching with my sis, her friend Nicole and my mom on Friday when the subject of the Easter Bunny came up. Apparently, as a child, I ruined the Easter Bunny scam for hordes of children waiting in line to sit on his lap. When it was my turn I sat down on his leg and looked up into the opening in his costume and declared, "THERE'S A MAN IN THERE!"

Nothing gets by me. Nothing.

Sorry for ruining Easter, Christmas and probably the tooth fairy for you sis. I promise not to spill the beans to my nephew. Mums the word. I will buy him a big hollowed out chocolate Easter Bunny and show him the Sizzle Method for eating it. I will impart my knowledge for good, not evil. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Amen. (Sorry, 13 years of Catholic school cannot be erased entirely.)

Today is Birthday Brunch with my nearest and dearest. Hip Hop Hooray! Only TWO days until my birthday.

Hope you had a good Easter and an even better birthday.
It is cool that probably the best chocolate available (or so I've heard) comes out around your birthday.
And happy b-day to your kitties, too. :)

My three year old nephew asked me the other day if I believed in Santa Claus and I looked at my sister like "how am I supposed to answer this?!?!" She just laughed.

PS: Nice photo Internet Soul Sister!

The fall of the Easter Bunny led to the fall of Santa and the Tooth Fairy when I was a child.... a tragic time.

Happy almost-birthday!

My birthday is right after New Year's...you got that right when you say we must get jacked! Think anyone ever wants to rally to celebrate my day? Noooooo, quite sad really...this year though, I decided not to let it get me down and took a trip to Jamaica....screw everyone else! I am doing that from now on....

But. Enough about me. Happy birthday to you and your cute kitties!

My 5 year old niece Alyssa (see pic) told me once that she knew Santa Claus wasn't real, and asked me for verification. I, the honest uncle, avoided the question as best I could, but knew she had me. I then explained the parallel fictionality of animals such as unicorns and dragons, and how these things are pretty much make-believe. She was ok with this.

I, however, love these fictionalities, and fell apart like Jenga.
