Countdowns

*Three days until I am on a plane to Tulum, Mexico. Arriba! Arriba!

*One day until I will be free from work. Eleven days away! It's a Christmas miracle.

*Eleven days until January and 2006. I have a feeling it's going to be a great month and even better year. It might even be kinda awesome!

I've been thinking, during my sleepless nights (oh yeah, I have insomnia), a lot about this past year. The choices I made. The paths I took- some less traveled, some well-worn. Patterns. Habits. Who I am. Was. Want to be. My upcoming trip is not only going to be rejuvenating (fingers crossed) and heart-warming (time with my fabulous family) but also contemplative. Away from the computer (it rules my life, I swear to baby Jesus), the cell phone, responsibilities (work and personal), and the confines of a beautiful town that I am, day by day, out-growing. I hope that relinquishing all those holds on me will allow my thoughts and feelings to shift into a new way of seeing.

I don't like New Year's for the parties. Actually, I hate them for that. The pressure to have someone to kiss at midnight. It's a single person's nightmare really. Well, unless you enjoy getting sloppy drunk and kissing the most drunk/available/closest in proximity person. The last time I did that. . . um, yeah, let's just say that turned out to be a six month "relationship" that almost resulted in a restraining order. I do, however, like New Year's for the opportunity it provides to do some serious self-reflection. The chance to create a personal wish list. What do I hope to do with 2006? Spiritually, intellectually, emotionally?

Nothing like being surrounded by sandy beaches, blue skies with the sound of waves crashing, laying in a hammock with all the time in the world to contemplate.

If anyone deserves to be relaxing, it's YOU! For your next trip, might I suggest sunny south Florida. We too have sandy beaches, blue skies, crashing waves, and hammocks...oh, and blue eyed tour guides...hehehe

Wow! The resort looks beautiful! I'm jealous! But I am curious, your Christmas package includes "national beverages". What the heck are "national beverages"??

Enjoy yourself, and unwind! You deserve it!

Have a rejuvinating, deliciously wonderful time, Ms. Siz. I also plan on a reflective blog about the New Year and I think your post said it beautifully.

Girl!!!! It's all about lounging in the sun, reading a good book, drinking lots of margaritas and not wearing a watch!

Enjoy!

Ms Siz, I couldn't have said it better myself. I plan to do a reflective New Year post next week and talk about the reasons I love fresh beginnings.

Have a wonderful vacation and come back raring to go with a song in your heart.

hugs,

Have a wonderful time, and soak up some rays for me. Lord knows I'm not getting any here in Michigan - land of the snow and cold and wind and all that crap.

Enjoy the sun & warmth!

I was just thinking about how excited I am for the New Year; it always presents the opportunity for starting anew. The Eve, however, leaves much to be desired.

Go, soak up all that lovely vitamin D your SPF 800 will allow, have fruity drinks that are served with little umbrellas (to keep the ice from melting you know) and then come back and tell me how *ahem* Ms. Sizzle got her groove back.
