The Tomato & Ms. Sizzle: A Love Story

The Tomato's latest update on his Flab to Fab journey is out. I was startled when I read the story because I hadn't heard of this date-gone-wrong and it had happened some time ago. I wanted to wipe the floor with that stupid yogi's ass using my self-defense moves when I read how awful he was to my dear Tomato. How dare he! And then today, the Tomato informed me of why I hadn't heard of it before. He DID in fact call me upset right after this slight occurred but I was in a state of self-absorbed drama over yet another break up with yet another sub-par boyfriend. My memory fails me but I guess the Tomato and I got into one of our classic fights and then ceased speaking for 4 months. Can an apology make up for a wrong you did years ago? I am so sorry Tomato that I wasn't there for you.

For those of you who aren't in the know about the history of the Tomato and Ms. Sizzle, let me give it to you in a nutshell. Back in high school both the Tomato and Ms. Sizzle found themselves employed at Baskin-Robbins. After many months of annoying one another (with the Tomato once commenting to Sizzle: "You are causing friction between us." That said because Sizzle didn't want to listen to Madonna or Debbie Gibson again) they eventually fell in love much to the confusion of all those who questioned the Tomato's sexuality. So what if he had a flair for the dramatic, a unique sense of style and the ability to recreate any of the Madonna dance sequences? He was my boyfriend, my first one at that, and we had a tumultous two years of love and hate. We'd fight over extra tomatoes on the pizza, his inability to dance WITH me at any of our proms and how much we loved one another. He soon became a member of my family. To this day he is a son to my mother and a brother to my sister. He was there for me when I got the call that my father had passed away. He cheered me on at my high school and college graduations. For every pivotal moment in my life, he has been there. He has listened to me cry more times than he cared to about my heartache. He always tells me the blunt honest truth and I count on him for that. He's wild and charismatic and high on life. He can be the biggest pain in my ass and I wouldn't want it any other way. He's brilliant and funny and a very trusted friend.

Happy Anniversary Tomato! Sixteen years of friendship and I still love you.

Color me sizzled!

Jenny... interesting? That is the best word you could come up with? We were in the prime of our development! It was an era I would give my eye teeth to go back and rediscover knowing everything I now know... I am sure I could drudge up a few pics of Jenny2x from same said era that could prove just how "interesting" we all once were...

Sizzle, your words are sweet and kind and all is forgiven... If I held grudges, we couldn't be who we are... I look forward to our days in the retirement center together... laughing over our history on the arms of our long-overdue but worth-the-find husbands...

xoxo

Or the most important part missing from this entire topic... Without this crazy time in our lives, Jenny2x and Sizzle may have never reconnected from their freshman year and then where would we be??
